I found the photo for this one on Paint my Photo and thought it would make a great painting subject.

My first attempt was not the best, so I scraped it off.

I’m learning to be less disappointed by these false starts as I know they are all part of the journey.

Just because I didn’t end up with something I wanted to show people, doesn’t mean it was a failure.

I learnt from what went wrong the first time, and ended up with a much stronger painting for my second attempt.

Besides, I enjoyed the painting process (until it started to go wrong), and enjoyment is the main reason I paint anyway, so it’s all good!
